Alma Hughes - 1922-2008
Alma Ailene Craycraft Hughes, 86, of Ashland, went to be with her Lord the morning of Dec. 21, 2008, from Oakmont Manor. She was born Sept. 2, 1922, in Carter County, a daughter of the late John and Mary Ella Dowdy Craycraft. She was a devoted member of Westwood Enterprise Baptist Church and was a very faithful servant to her Lord by serving many churches in their Vacation Bible School programs.
She also was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Hughes.
She is survived by two sons, Bill Hughes (Suzie) of Columbus and Larry Hughes (Norma) of Cannonsburg; one brother Paul Craycraft (Dixie) of Flatwoods; two sisters, Carrie Abbott of Dayton, Ohio, and Lillian Little of Ashland; five grandchildren, Chris Hughes, Josh Hughes, Luke Jackson, Jake Hughes and Casey Hughes; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Taylor and Connor Hughes; and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at Caniff Funeral Home in Ashland. Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
