Anna Barrow

Anna Lee Barrow, 95, of Lexington, formerly of Ashland, passed away Thursday morning in St. Joseph Hospice Care of Lexington.
She was born Feb. 28, 1918, in Owingsville, a daughter of the late Jim and Mittie Brothers Reed.
She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Rush Barrow Jr., in 2001; four brothers, Ashby Reed, James Lawrence Reed, Branch Reed and Wilson Reed; and three sisters, Mildred Harris, Stella Mae Barrow and Delores Wright.
Anna was a member of Johnson Memorial CME Church and retired after many years of service at Ashland Community College. Most recently, she was attending the Best Friends Center, which is sponsored by Christian Care Communities.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon Barrow Childs and George Childs Jr. of Lexington; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by the Rev. Daniel Childs. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
