Billy O'Neal - 1926-2008
Billy F. O'Neal, 82, of Ashland, Ky., died Sept. 27, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 31, 1926, in Grayson, Ky., a son of the late Willard and Elizabeth Morrison O'Neal.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Russell Lee Meadows, and a sister, Jean Warman.
He was a retired truck driver with Mason Dixie Trucking Co. and attended Heritage Temple. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Bessie Aileen Plybon O'Neal of Ashland; sons Charles E. O'Neal of Oregon, Ohio, David A. O'Neal of Perrysburg, Ohio, and Michael J. O'Neal of Rogersville, Tenn.; a daughter, Sherri Kazee of Ashland; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers Earnest Woody O'Neal of Ashland and William E. Dowdy of Shelby Twp., Mich.; and a sister, Barbara Jackson of Recon, Ohio.
The funeral was at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods by Roger Watkins II. Burial was in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland, with military graveside rites presented by VFW Post 8850 of Ironton, Ohio.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
