Carl Dove (1935 - 2009)
Carl Samuel Dove, 73, of Ashland, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, after his passing from the King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
Mr. Dove was born Nov. 24, 1935, in Ashland, a son of the late Dock and Mabel Anderson Dove. His loving wife, Ina "Margo" Dove preceded him in death Aug. 17, 2009. He was retired from the Calgon Corp. maintenance department, coached Ashland American Little League for 21 years, was an avid UK Wildcat and Tomcat fan and a member of Oakland Avenue Baptist Church.
Surviving are four children, Eddie (Debbie) Dove, Sandy (Steve) Collier and Jennifer Kirk, all of Ashland, and Chris Dove of Lexington, Ky; three sisters, Lucille Staggs and Harriett (Bill) Sarven, both of Ashland, and Dorothy McCarty of Scarbro, W.Va.; eight grandchildren, Dr. Audrey (Curran) Scarlata, Natasha Kirk, Justin Robinson, Dixie Robinson, Cody Ritchie, Allie Bester, Alyson Salyers and Christopher Dove; and six great-grandchildren, Lacy Robinson, Trent Robinson, Nicholas Scarlata, Brandon Scarlata, Mariah Kirk and Xavier Taylor.
Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Charles Dove, Dock Dove Jr., Allen G. Dove and John D. Dove; and two sisters, Betty Jo Castle and Elizabeth Maynard.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at Neal Funeral Home on Center Street in Catlettsburg. A message of comfort will be offered by Pastor Mike Blankenship. Committal will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home
