Carl Jobe

Carl Eugene Jobe, 54, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Mr. Jobe was born Sept. 26, 1957, in Ashland, son of Denver Jobe of Ashland and the late Helen Ruth York Jobe. Carl began working at Jobes Body Shop in 1975 and worked there for 37 years, he became the owner in 2007. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and riding ATVs. He was a JFL football coach for Ashland and an Ashland National baseball coach. His true love was racing, he was founder, president and racer of WOW (Winged Outlaw Warriors Racing Series), he had numerous wins on the track in his 20 years of racing. He was a lifetime Ashland Tomcat fan and a Kentucky Wildcats fan. Carl sacrificed his life and health to raise his four boys, and to take care of his wife.

Carl leaves behind his loving wife of 36 years, Betty Church Jobe; sons, Bob Jobe and his wife, Robin, Nathan Jobe and his wife, Jessica, Matt Jobe and his wife, Krystal, and Chad Jobe and his wife, Michele, all of Ashland; grandchildren, Macie, Desirae, Jada, Tristian, Ethan, Evan, Baby Boy Jobe (due in November), Dustin, Henry, Isabele and Lusha; his twin brother, Clarence Jobe (Kathy) of Ashland; loving niece and caregiver, Johnda Shaffer; and a host of nieces and nephews he loved as if they were his own.

In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by his brother, Denver Jobe Jr.

Funeral service for Mr. Jobe will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg. Pastor Ron Fultz will officiate. Final rest in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.

Visiting hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday the funeral home.
