Christopher D. Cumpston, 30, of Catlettsburg, passed away Monday, Feb. 7, 2011 in Ashland.
Mr. Cumpston was born June 8, 1980, in Ashland, a son of Charles Russell and Carrie McDowell Cumpston of Catlettsburg.
Chris was a 1998 graduate of Boyd County High School and worked for Laborers Local 1445. He enjoyed writing music, playing the guitar, sports, traveling and drawing.
Also surviving are Chris' wife, Kelli Jo Hall Cumpston; daughters Maggie Hall and Hannah Hall, both of Northern Charleston, S.C.; a brother, Randy Conley, of Catlettsburg; sisters Connie Rucker and her husband, Joe, of Catlettsburg, Tammy Barnette of Huntington, W.Va., and Tonia Albertson of Ashland; grandparents Gertie Boggs, Ora McDowell and Nettie and John Cumpston; a niece, Kendra Smith; and a special friend, Latoya Smith.
Preceding him in death was a brother, Charles Randall Cumpston.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg. Pastors Mike Amos and Steven Keyes will officiate. Final rest will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Casket bearers will be Hugh Massey, Shawn Carter, Rodney Daniels, Joe Rucker, Timmy Miller, Jason Church, Kendra Smith and Randy Conley.
