CUZA CHANDLER, 83, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away surrounded by her family at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House to be with our Heavenly Father on February 29, 2012. She was born, February 6, 1929, in Johnson County, Ky., the eldest daughter of the late Ron and Decie Phipps. Cuza is survived by her husband of 64 years John W. Chandler and three children, Linda Lockhart and husband William and their children Chandler and Brandon; David Chandler and wife Cindy and their children Whitney and Tyler and wife Melissa; and Karen Chandler. She is also survived by her brothers Ronald Phipps, Richard Phipps and Paul Phipps. Cuza Chandler dedicated her life to her husband, children and family. She worked tirelessly to provide the best home possible for her family. Cuza was an avid gardener and kept her lawn immaculate. Cuza was a member of the 39th Street Baptist Church of Jesus Christ in Ashland, Ky. She was also a member of the Marcum Chapter Order of the Eastern Star in Ceredo, W.Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. The family would also like to express their extreme gratitude to her caregivers and the home healthcare staffs. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012, at the Reger Funeral Home, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012, at the Reger Funeral Chapel with Rev. C.J. Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens, Ashland.
