Donald Spurlock

Donald Ray Spurlock, 68, of Catlettsburg, husband of Lynda Caroll Brown Spurlock, died peacefully at his home Sunday evening, July 15, 2012, following an extended illness.

Don was born Jan. 5, 1944, in Catlettsburg, a son of the late General Wilbur and Esta Robinette Spurlock.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Wilbur Gene Spurlock.

Don attended England Hill Freewill Baptist Church, was a member of Fred Gross Lodge 953, F&AM, and retired from the maintenance department at Kentucky Electric Steel.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Lonnie Deron Spurlock of Panama City Beach, Fla.; and two brothers, George Harrison Spurlock and Robert Bruce Spurlock, both of Catlettsburg.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland by Pastor Willie May and the Rev. Pete Miller.

There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are under the direction of Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland.
