Earl Ball Jr

August 5, 1948 — March 31, 2011

Earl "Euggie" Ball Jr., 62, went home to be with the Lord and his precious granddaughter Emma, on Thursday, March 31, 2011.

Euggie was born Aug. 5, 1948, a son of the late Earl Sr. and Lucille Ball of Kenova. An avid fisherman, he also enjoyed watching football and baseball, spending time outdoors taking walks, and tending to his flower and vegetable gardens. He was a member of Burnaugh Baptist Church, where he served as an usher and member of the choir. Euggie loved spending time with his grandchildren and the students of C-K Middle School, where he worked for the last 25 years.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Pat Ball; two daughters, Stephanie (Barry) Meade and Angel Ball Sias; three grandchildren, Caleb, Hannah and Elizabeth Meade, all of Huntington; mother-in-law, Louise Rowe of Genoa, W.Va.; one brother, Frank (Frances) Ball; two sisters, Betty (Art) Stewart and Bessie (Gene) Allen, all of Catlettsburg; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be at noon Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Burnaugh Baptist Church with Pastors Pete Miller and David Kerr officiating.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and one hour before the service Sunday at the church.

Committal will be at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.

The family would like to extend our deepest thanks to the staff at the Hospice House of Huntington, the members of Burnaugh Baptist Church and the staff of C-K Middle School, for their loving support during this most difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Hospice House of Huntington and the Good Samaritan Center of Kenova.
