Ernest Ratliff

Ernest J. Ratliff, 86, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Community Hospice. He was born June 16, 1931 in Paintsville, KY the son of the late Ernie and Mollie Trusty Ratliff. He was retired from Armco Steel and a member of Wildwood Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Barbara VanHorn Ratliff; one daughter, Robin VanHoose of Ashland; two sons, Larry (Jan) Ratliff of Somerset, KY and Greg (Kim) Ratliff of Ashland; one sister, Martha Workman of Waxahachie, TX; 5 grandchildren, Heather (Travis) McCoy, Kristin Ratliff, Tyler (Sarah) VanHoose, Lauren (Austin) Moman and Dylan VanHoose; 8 great grandchildren, Byron (Carly) McCoy, Garret Morgan McCoy, Parker Nunley, Paige Ellen VanHoose, Preslee VanHoose, Isaac VanHoose, Lily Anne Ratliff and Phoenix VanHoose. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday October 6, 2017at Miller Funeral Home by Rev. Tom Leach. Burial will follow at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM till 1:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Ave, Ashland, KY 41101.
