Evelyn Janet Broughton Crawford, 85, of Ashland, passed away Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, in Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods, Ky.
Mrs. Crawford was born Nov. 6, 1923, in Ashland, Ky., a daughter of the late Ernest and Samantha Webb Broughton. Her husband, Allen Brewer Crawford, preceded her in death.
She was a clerk with J.C. Penney's, a receptionist with Habitat for Humanity and a member of Raceland Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Nancy (Pat) Virgin of Worthington, Ky., and Donna Adkins of Ashland, Ky; two sons, Gregory (Jeannie) Crawford of Columbus, Ohio, and Chris (Wendi) Crawford of Richmond, Va.; two brothers, Jack Broughton of Ashland and Harold Broughton of Merced, Calif.; a sister, Francis Caroll of Merced; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death was a brother, Gene Broughton.
A private service was Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2009, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home in Catlettsburg.
