Florence "Flo" Rice Lowe, 69, of Ashland, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011, in King's Daughters Medical Center after a long illness.
Ms. Lowe was born Feb. 8, 1942, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Raymond and Josie Burchett Rice.
Flo was formerly employed by Aetna Cleaning Service and enjoyed playing cards with her friends. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by a daughter, Penny Ison of Ashland; three sons, Bill Lowe (Renati) of Marion, Ohio, Ed Lowe (Treasa) of Greenup and Wes Lowe (Susan) of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; three brothers, Jim Rice (Dierdre) of Catlettsburg, Raymond "Junie" Rice of Ashland and Terry Rice of Elizabethtown; three sisters, Clara Keihn (Ed) and Patricia Rice, both of Ashland, and Dorothy Spillman of Flatwoods; 15 grandchildren; and eight great- grandchildren.
Funeral services for Florence Lowe will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg. Pastor Dallas Sutton will bring a comforting message and Dean Akers will assist. Final rest will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral hme.
The family would like to thank the ICU staff at KDMC for the exceptional care and support during this difficult time.
