Garland Ray Galliher, 76, died May 17, 2011, in King's Daughters Medical Center.

He was born June 29, 1934, in Ashland, the son of the late Elmer and Opal Mobley Galliher.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Workman Galliher, in 1995. He was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Morman.

He was a member of the Church of God and was a U.S. Army veteran, master sergeant, who served two tours in Vietnam. He was a clerk at Ben Williamson Supply and a member of American Legion Post 76.

He is survived by a son, Steven Morman of Ashland, and a daughter, Karen Stephens of Catlettsburg; a brother, Jerry Kinzer of Ashland; and sisters Lela Nevel of Ironton, Ohio, Vicky Beatty of Ashland and Billie Rapzynski of Vairico, Fla. Grandchildren are Samantha, Janie, Rayanna, Jeffrey and Johnda; a stepgrandson, Christopher Skeans; and a great-grandson, Jeffrey Morman Jr.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2011, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Pastor Rob Jordan. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.

Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
