Grayce Ellis Law, 81, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, following an extended illness.

Grayce was born Oct. 4, 1931, in Boyd County, to the late Mont Scott and Mary Virgie Stevens Ellis.

She retired from Fairview High School as a cafeteria worker and was a member of Catlettsburg Church of God. She was a former charter member of Order of Eastern Star Westwood Chapter No. 569. She was a devoted and faithful wife, mother and grandmother to her family and will be sadly missed by her many friends and extended family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Estill Paul Law; a brother, Thomas Richard Ellis; and a sister, Esther Belle Sininger.

Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Law of Ashland; a sister, Stella Urbanski of Millbrae, Calif.; two grandchildren, Dustin Scott Law Burchett and his wife, Tara, of Ashland and Amie Paulette Law Burchett and her fiancé, Jimmy Manning, of Ashland; one great-grandchild, Carmen Allison Burchett; two nieces, Paula Sue (Paul) Skeleton of Evansville, Ind., and Connie Urbanski of Millbrae, Calif.; a great-niece, Susan Borg of Millbrae, Calif.; and a special friend and her beautician for more than 40 years, Helen Burton.

A special thank you from her daughter,Teresa, to everyone that helped during Grayce's illness; to her caregivers at Kingsbrook Life Care Center; and the Blevins, Roark, Grim and her neighborhood families.

Funeral services will be at noon Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood by Chaplain Dale Maddy. Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.

Friends may call at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
