Helen Davis (1915-2008)
Helen B. Davis, 92, of East Main Street, Greenup, Ky., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008, in Kingsbrook Life Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
Mrs. Davis was born Nov. 9, 1915, in Greenup County, a daughter of the late Hugh and Mahale Chaffins Boggs.
She was a retired engineering secretary for Armco Steel and a member of Greenup Christian Church, the Greenup Homemakers and the Greenup Woman's Club.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Porter Davis Sr.; her son, Ernest Porter Davis Jr.; two brothers, Gene Boggs and Jim Boggs; and a sister, Beatrice Schofield.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Phyllis Ann Miller Davis of Russell, Ky.; two brothers, Tug Boggs of Firebrick, Ky., and Joe Boggs of Portsmouth, Ohio; four grandchildren, Ernest Porter Davis III of Raceland, Ky., Ray Davis of Bellefonte, Ky., Philip Glen Davis of Grayson, Ky., and Nancy Ann Davis Crum of Bellefonte; and eight great-grandchildren, Ernie Davis IV, Mabrie Nacole Davis, Rachel Davis, Sarah Davis, Curtis Davis, Lyndsey Davis, Emily Ann Nacole Crum and Justin Porter Crum.
Graveside funeral services will be at 1:45 p.m. today, Nov. 7, 2008, at East Ashland Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup.
