Helen Jobe

Helen Ruth York Jobe, a lifelong resident of Ashland, passed away amidst her family Sunday evening, Aug. 1 2010, in King's Daughters Medical Center.

Mrs. Jobe was 79 years of age, born Sept. 19, 1930, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Clarence and Margaret Lewis York.

Helen was a graduate of Ashland High School and faithful member of Mamre Missionary Baptist Church in Kitts Hill, Ohio, where she sang in the choir. She also was a member of the Vintage Chevy Car Club, the Iron City Antique Car Club and the Ashland Twins Club. Helen was a dedicated and loving housewife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, flowers and good fellowship with friends and family.

Helen leaves behind her loving husband of 60 years, Denver Jobe; sons Clarence Jobe and his wife, Kathy, and Carl Jobe and his wife, Betty, both of Ashland; grandchildren Bob and Robin Jobe, Nathan and Jessica Jobe, Matt and Kryistal Jobe, Chad and Michelle Jobe, Casey and Tiffany Jobe, Derrick and Krissy Jobe, Angella Jobe Webb and Cindy Boone Jobe; great-grandchildren Isabele Jobe, Lusha Jobe, Ethan Jobe, Evan Jobe, Macie Jobe, Jada Vincent, Delaney Jackson, Addison Jobe, Michael Trout, Gracie Trout, Scott Webb, Leah Webb, Tyler Webb, Victoria Boone and Bradley Boone; and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.

Also preceding her in death were Denver W. Jobe Jr., Helen's son; and two brothers, Huber York and Herman York.

Funeral services for Helen Ruth York Jobe will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010, at Neal Funeral Home on Center Street in Catlettsburg. Pastor Ryan McKee and Pastor John Paul Patterson will offer a message of comfort. Final rest will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.

Grandsons will serve as casket bearers.

Those wishing to call on the Jobe family may do so from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

There will be a fellowship dinner after services at the home of Denver and Helen, 2614 Riggles St., Ashland.

The family graciously asks, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Mamre Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 110, Kitts Hill, OH 45645.
