Henry Dyer

ASHLAND - Henry Gerald Dyer died at his home on Feb. 16, 2011, after an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 9, 1940, in Magoffin County, to the late John M. and Edna Mae Hackworth Dyer.
Also preceding him in death were a sister, Jonetta Dyer, and a grandson, John G. Dyer Jr.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Barbara Price Dyer; two sons, Jerry Dyer of Frankfort and John G. Dyer of Ashland; a brother, Roger Dyer of Hilliard, Ohio, and a grandson, Steven D. Dyer of Morehead.
He was a member of the Kentucky National Guard for three years and the Army Reserve for five years. He was a former employee of National Mine Service Co. and owner and operator of Ashland Burglar Alarm and Ashland Central Monitoring for the past 39 years.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel in Ashland by Pastor David Gross and Pastor Michael McCallister. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
