Jeanetta June Blair Cantrell, 68, of Westwood, Ky., while surrounded by her family and loved ones, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday evening, July 27, 2009.
Mrs. Cantrell was born Oct. 17, 1940, in Stirratt, W.Va. June was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her father, Arnold Blair; her mother, Mary McCormick Blair; her husband, Clyde W. Cantrell; a grandson, Christopher Cantrell; and a nephew, David Maynard.
She is survived by her children, Rosmary Sparks (James), Deidre Ping (Tim), Michael Cantrell and Carolyn Vanover (Mike); seven grandchildren, Blair Blevins, John L. Blevins, Whitney Wells, Josh Wells, Lauren Cantrell, Tyler Sparks and Brantley Snider; two great- grandchildren, John W. and Kylee Blevins; and her adopted grandchildren, Carrie, Jessie, Billie Sue and Valerie Maynard. Also surviving are two sisters and best friends along with their spouses, Edna and Bill Maynard and Rose and Bill Ferguson; her dear friend and sister-in-law, Harriett Smith; sisters-in-law and friends Jean Hamilton, Edie Dearfield, Betty Nolan and Nettie; and uncles, nieces, nephews and her good friend and neighbor, Roger Ray.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2009, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg. Pastor Mike Cox will offer a message of hope and inspiration, with a heartfelt personal eulogy given by Pastor Paul Cox. Final rest will follow a solemn committal at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
The family will receive friends after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
