Jeffery Allen Reed - 1966-2009
Jeffery Allen Reed of Westwood passed away at his home on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, after a brief illness. He was 43.
Born Jan. 23, 1966, in Marietta, Ohio, to Ed and Sharon Reed, he is the second of five sons.
Jeff was a devoted husband, father, brother and son who will be sadly missed by his family. He never met a stranger and will be remembered by so many friends for his helpful, caring nature. He always met everyone with a smile. He was a teddy bear of a guy and anyone who truly knew Jeff knows what a loss we have all suffered. Jeff was formerly a manager of Walmart for seven years and a deputy jailer for Boyd County. He was a valued team member of Merchant Management Systems at the time of his passing. He was also an experienced carpet installer who took great pride in every job he completed.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Eddie, and nephew, Camron. He leaves behind his wife, Bobbie; sons Scott, Chase and Braydon; daughter Kasey; grandsons Colton and Peyton; his mother, Sharon; brothers Chip, Michael and partner Tim Ellis, Pat and wife Amy, Chris and wife Bethany and nieces Becca, Lexi and Gracie.
Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland is in charge of arrangements.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 12. The service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, July 13 at the funeral home by Pastor Tim Holmes of Hillside Community Church. He will be laid to rest beside his father at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
