Jessie Belle Adams Barker (1925-2009)
Jessie Belle Adams Barker, 84, of Ashland, Ky., died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2009, in King's Daughters Medical Center.
She was born April 12, 1925, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Jesse Adams and Mollie Eldridge Adams.
She was a homemaker and a member of Blackburn Avenue Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher.
Also preceding her in death was her husband, Ralph Barker Sr., on Sept. 19, 2006; a son, John Barker; and a daughter, Mary Crabtree.
Surviving are her children, William and Anita Barker of Ashland, Ella and Norris Suttles of Westwood, Ky., Sam Barker of Ashland, Ralph Jr. and Shateka Barker of Catlettsburg, Ky., Lois and Ray Sloan of Flatwoods, Ky., Brenda and Scot Moore of Worthington, Ky., and Linda and Steve Woods of Flatwoods; 24 grandchildren; and beloved great- and great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at Lazear Funeral Home in Ashland by the Rev. Ron Riley. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m today at the funeral home.
