Johnie Brown Weaver - 1924-2008
Johnie Brown Weaver, 83, of Ashland, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 6, 2008, in Community Hospice Care Center.
Mrs. Weaver was born June 14, 1924, in Anthras, Tenn., the daughter of the late Abraham L. and Elizabeth Todd Brown.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, John P. Weaver.
Mrs. Weaver was a homemaker and a member of Wildwood Baptist Church.
She is also survived by a son and his wife, John H. Weaver and Donna Farthing Weaver of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Judy Moore, and her husband, Wendell, of Owingsville; a brother, Thomas "Buck" Brown of Pennington Gap, Va.; two sisters, Bertha Marie Ridings and Opal Portwood, both of Clinton, Tenn.; grandchildren Wendell Moore Jr. of Louisville, Paul David Moore and his wife, Kim, of Owingsville, Lara Moore of Kingsport, Tenn., John C. Weaver and fiancee Allison Jones of Houston and Zach Weaver of Houston; and two great-grandchildren, Taylor and McKenna Moore.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2008, at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel by Pastor Jim Nichols. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, friends may make contributions to the Wildwood Baptist Church Building Fund, 3414 Charles St., Ashland, KY 41101.
