Lois Jean Cordial Conley, 75, of Catlettsburg, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 29, 2010, surrounded by loving family in King's Daughters Medical Center. She was born May 13, 1935, in Ashland to the late James Russell and Olive Newkirk Cordial.
She was a dedicated housewife and mother. She was also very involved in her community, having memberships with Democratic Women's Club, Ashland Oil C.A.P. Board, Catlettsburg Housing Authority and Oakland Avenue Baptist Church and was a Kentucky Colonel.
She leaves behind her husband of 58 years, Allen Conley; a son, Steve Conley and wife Julie of Kitts Hill, Ohio; two daughters, Bobette Wilson and Gretchen McDowell, both of Catlettsburg; two brothers, Roy Allen Cordial and James Russell Cordial jr., both of Ashland; three sisters, Ruby Clemons (John) of Argillite, Ky., Dreama Kathleen Clark (Mike) of Shelby, Ohio and Denise Lynn Whitted of Grove City, Ohio; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Allen "Buddy" Conley Jr.; a brother, Raymond Cordial; and a sister, Mona Elizabeth Harmon.
A celebration of life services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg. A message of hope and inspiration will be given by pastor Mike Blankenship. Final rest will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
