Lucille Staggs

Lucille C. Staggs, 82, of Huntington, W.Va., formerly of Cleveland, Ohio, and Ashland, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, in St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington.

She was born April 4, 1930, in Ashland, the daughter of the late Dock and Mable Anderson Dove.

She was a former cook for the Cleveland school district and attended Heritage Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Edmon Staggs; three sisters, Betty Jo Castle, Elizabeth Maynard and Harriett Sarven; and five brothers, Carl Dove, Dock Dove Jr., Allen Dove, John D. Dove and Charles Dove.

She is survived by two daughters, Theresa Johnson of Huntington and Janice Copfer (Brian) of Parma, Ohio; three sons, Edmon Staggs (Cindy), Chuck Staggs and William Staggs (Tina), all of Cleveland; a sister, Dottie McCarty of Ashland; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland with Brother Ed Cook officiating. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
