Maxine Easterling - 1934-2010
Gwendolyn Maxine Easterling, 75, of Rush, passed away Monday evening, March 22, 2010, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
Mrs. Easterling was born Aug. 31, 1934, in Boyd County, Ky., to the late Edward N. and Julia A. Ditty Fowler.
Maxine worked many years for the State TB Hospital in the laundry department. She enjoyed sewing and cooking.
Maxine is survived by two brothers, J.C. (Susan) Fowler of Winchester, Ky., and Willis Fowler of Coalton, Ky.; three sisters, Emma Jean Ruffing of Ashland, Donna Ellenburg of Coalton and Geneva Jo (Ronnie) Blair of Proctorville, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Billie Fowler of Russell, Ky.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Hubert Easterling; brothers O.C. Fowler, Sherman Fowler and Bert Fowler; and sisters Mary Lou Fowler, Charlene Fowler and Oreita Ann Lowe.
A funeral service to honor the life of Gwendolyn Maxine Easterling will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Twin Fork Church of the Nazarene, Ky. 168, Catlettsburg, Ky. Pastors Norman Potter and Walter Wilcox will bring a comforting message. Final rest will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg and an hour before services at the church.
