Phyllis Arthur

March 21, 1942 — January 13, 2012

Phyllis J. Boyd Arthur, 69, of Catlettsburg, went to be with the Lord Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

Mrs. Arthur was born March 21, 1942, in Ashland, daughter of the late Jay W. Sr. and Beulah Howard Boyd.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tom Arthur in 2008.

Phyllis was a graduate of Thomas R. Brown High School, was employed by King's Daughters Hospital and a member of Catlettsburg Church of God. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by son, Tom Arthur, and his wife, Vanessa, of Athens, Ohio; daughters, Teri Steele and her husband, Mark, of Ashland and Malissa McLeod and her husband, Kevin, of Catlettsburg; grandchildren, Allison, Zachary, Blake, Katherine, Taylor, Brandon, Jessica, Natalie and Aiden; great-grandchildren, Penelope, Sammy, Ruby and Nora; brothers, Jay Boyd (Brenda) of Catlettsburg, Ronnie Boyd (Judy) of Russell and Mike Boyd (Lil) of Catlettsburg; sisters, Barbara Tackett and Sharon Boyd Dyer (Charlie), both of Flatwoods; and dear friend, Troy Muncy.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband and grandchild, Kyle.

Funeral services for Mrs. Arthur will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at Catlettsburg Church of God, 105 36th Street, Catlettsburg. Pastor Rick Shelby and Pastor Andy Turner will officiate. Final rest will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.

Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home on Panola Street in Catlettsburg and one hour prior to service time at the church.
