Phyllis Stafford

August 21, 1928 — May 3, 2012

On Friday, May 4, 2012, Phyllis L. Stafford went to be with her heavenly father, with both of her children at her bedside, surrounded with love.

Mrs. Stafford was born Aug. 21, 1928, in Ashland, a daughter of the late Homer and Grace Brown Lambert.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Stafford, in 2002.

Phyllis was a dedicated wife, loving mother and friend to all. She enjoyed spending time with her family and caring for them, as well as the many other friends in her life. She loved reading and watching University of Kentucky games with her family. Some of her most memorable moments were just relaxing and drinking coffee on the front porch of her home while she watched her kids, and later, grandkids play. Her family pets/dogs were also an important part of her life. She had many challenges in her life and she met each with a positive attitude and determination that has had a lasting impact on her entire family today. Her deep faith in the Lord allowed her to live a blessed life.

Phyllis leaves behind her children - a son, George Stafford II and his wife, Cathy, of Lexington; and a daughter, Beth Reese and her husband, Joe, of Arlington, Tenn.; and grandchildren Ben Reese, 15, Branden Reese, 12, Lauren Reese, 7, Sarah Stafford, 10 and Sean Stafford, 5.
