Phyllis Joy Strother - 1936-2008
Phyllis Joy Strother, 72, of Ashland, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at her residence.
She was born March 26, 1936, in Salyersville, Ky., the daughter of the late Ovie and Gladys Trusty Bailey. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Corn and her husband, Tyron, of Ashland, Ky.; two sons, Larry M. Strother and William David Strother, both of Ashland; her special former husband, Miles Strother; three sisters, Faye Allen and Norma Jean Blevins, both of Ashland, and Margaret Green of Portsmouth, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Jarrod Winters, Karen Winters, Melissa Winters, Dakota Winters, Davy Strother, Tamara Michelle Corn and Mathew Scott Corn; and a great-grandchild, Ion Winters.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland by the Rev. Tommy Romans and the Rev. Ron Evans. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
