Richard Patrick

Richard Patrick, 60, husband of Jacqueline Patrick of Ashland, passed away Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, following a brief illness. He was born Feb. 8, 1950, in Boyd County to Edward R. and Ida Stewart Patrick of Ashland. He attended Moore Street Tabernacle, was a self employed sound engineer and former Muzak franchise owner.

He was a member of Order of Eastern Star Westwood Chapter 569, member and past master of Hampton Lodge 235 F & AM and Fred M. Gross Lodge 953 F & AM. He was a past district deputy for the Grand Lodge of Kentucky District 37, Morehead Chapter 168, Royal Arch Masons, Morehead Council 45, Royal and Select Masters, Morehead Commandry 53 and Knights Templar. His memberships also included Indra Consistory Valley of Covington Scottish Rite Bodies 33� mason, member, secretary and treasurer of the Ashland Russell Scottish Rite Club, member and past potentate of El Hasa Shrine and former board member of Shriner's Burns Hospital Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a member of the Morehead Shrine Club, Hillbilly Clan 1, a past director of Big Sandy Court 172 Royal Order of Jesters, Legion of Honor, Horse Traders, Kachina Club, Que Club, Ashland Kiwanis Club and Ashland Elks BPOE 350.

Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline Simpson Patrick of Ashland; a son, Richard Lee (Tracey) Patrick II of Ashland; a daughter, Tiffani (Ben) Johnson of Louisville, Ky.; his parents, Edward R. "Dick" and Ida "Sis" Stewart Patrick of Ashland; and four grandchildren, Riley, Sophia, Alyvia and Taylor.

Richard was preceded in death by a brother Darryl Patrick.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at El Hasa Shrine in Cannonsburg by the Rev. Edgel Whitt. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at El Hasa Shrine. Eastern Star services will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. by officers and members of Westwood Chapter 569 Order of Eastern Star, Scottish Rite services will be conducted at 6:45 p.m. by officers and members of Ashland-Russell Scottish Rite Club and Masonic services will be conducted at 7 p.m. by officers and members of Fred M. Gross Lodge 953 F & AM.

Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood is in charge of arrangements.
