Ruth Garnet Fannin - 1918-2009
Ruth Garnet Fannin, 90, of Ashland, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, in Community Hospice Care Center.
She was born Dec. 4, 1918, in Boyd County, Ky., the daughter of the late Samuel and Jennie Lusk Harris.
She was a member of Princess Chapel and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
She is survived by her husband, Modest Fannin of Ashland; a son, Bernard Fannin and his wife, Louise, of Ashland; a daughter, Ramona Gail Fannin of Sanford, Fla.; two grandchildren, Vicki Belt and Susan Vogel; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland with Pastor Clell Lucas officiating. Burial will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
