Sandra Keyser - 1943-2008
Sandra Sue Smith Keyser, 65, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Mrs. Keyser was born May 7, 1943, in Proctorville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Oscar and Ruth Rayburn Smith.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Smith Gray, and two brothers, Carlton Smith and Jack Smith.
Surviving are her best friend and loving husband, James Roy Keyser; three sons, Michael Keyser and his wife, Kim, of Berea, Ky., Jamie Keyser and his fiancée, Jonna Johnson, of Ashland, and Melvin Kestner of Ironton, Ohio; three daughters, Mellanie Williams and her husband, Ralph, of Disputanta, Va., Karla Johnson of Huntington, W.Va., and Sheree Keyser of Honolulu, Hawaii; a brother, Jim Smith and his wife, Nancy, of Dayton, Ohio; sisters Betty Smith Hall, Patsy Smith Bledsoe and her husband, Elmo, and Shirley Smith Bledsoe and her husband, Kenny, all of Barboursville, W.Va.; her brother-in-law, Mason Keyser and his wife, Delores; special aunts Mildred Lyons of Russell, Ky., and Laura Bowman of Bellflower, Calif.; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a large group of special nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Mrs. Keyser will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008, at Neal Funeral Home on Center Street in Catlettsburg. The Rev. Richard Sexton will offer words of comfort and encouragement, with special music by Mary Lauhon.
Committal will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today and an hour before services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the West Catlettsburg United Methodist Church Building Fund, 208 10th St., Catlettsburg, KY 41129.
