Sarah Clark (1923-2008)
Sarah E. Church Clark, 85, of Catlettsburg, passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 24, 2008, in Woodland Oaks Health Care Facility in Ashland.
Mrs. Clark was born March 19, 1923, in Carter City, a daughter of the late Gabriel and Mary Jane Leadingham Church. Her husband of 20 years, Raymond H. Clark, preceded her in death.
She was an operator at the Sylvania Defense Plant and a member of Catlettsburg First Church of the Nazarene. Sarah enjoyed singing gospel songs, reading and cooking, but most of all spending time with her family.
Surviving is a loving family, including a daughter, Rose Smith, and her husband, Donald Keith, of Catlettsburg; four granddaughters, Sherrie Stevens, Lori Malone, Renae Smith and Jenae Smith; two grandsons-in-law, Vincent Stevens and Wayne Malone; and five precious great- grandchildren, David Hale, Cody Malone, Ashley Hale, Jon-Bonett Stevens and Victoria Elizabeth Rose Malone.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Homer Church, Clifford Church and Woodrow Church; a sister, Rose May Cole; three sisters-in-law, Susen Church, Eileen Church and Phyllis Church; a brother-in-law, Chapman Cole; and nephews Chapman Cole Jr. and Bill Church.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, at Neal Funeral Home in Catlettsburg. A heartfelt message of comfort will be given by Pastor Charlie Rice. Final rest will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Visitation for family and friends will be after 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
