Sarah M. Eskew - 1931-2010
Sarah M. Eskew, 78, of Ashland, died Friday, April 2, 2010, in Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Lakeland, Fla.
She was born Sept. 20, 1931, in Ashland, Ky., the daughter of the late Albert and Sadie Smith Miller.
She was a homemaker, a former secretary at R.C. Jones, where she worked for 35 years, a former officer of Eastern Star and a Kentucky colonel.
Mrs. Eskew was also a member of the Thirteenth Street Free Will Baptist Church and a devoted wife of 60 years.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by her husband, Albert Eskew; a son, Kevin Eskew of Williamsburg, Va.; a special sister-in-law, Jenny Clay of Ashland; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Miller Funeral Home in Ashland with the Rev. Bill Smith and Pastor David McKinney officiating. Entombment will be in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Stambaugh, Bill Stambaugh, Frank Eskew, Jack Perkins, Richard Eskew and Mike Dillon.
