She was born Oct. 17, 1970 in Louisa, and was the daughter of Clifford P. Woods, his wife Pamela of Ceredo, W.Va. and Ellen W. Cyrus and a very special stepfather, Tom Cyrus, of Catlettsburg.
Susan was raised in Catlettsburg, went to school at Catlettsburg Elementary, Catlettsburg Junior High and graduated from Boyd County High School in 1988. Her first job was at Catlettsburg Dairy Cheer at age 16. By age 18 she was doing temp office work and data entry. She was hired full time at Catlettsburg Federal Savings and Loan as a mail clerk. She worked her way up to loan office and eventually Branch Manager. Later, she was also employed at EZ Mortgage Loans Inc. Susan was a faithful member of 39th Street International Pentecostal Church of Christ in Ashland. She was active in Sunday School, VBS Youth and Ladies Ministries.
Susan was the loving wife of Scott Hardeman and proud mother of two fantastic boys, Drew Moore, age 20, and Shane Hardeman, age 8. Susan considered her greatest accomplishment to be accepting Christ as her Savior and mothering her boys.
Also left behind are two brothers, Steven Woods and his wife Sonya of Catlettsburg and Scott Woods and his wife Penny of Grayson.
To remember Susan, a service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at Neal Funeral Home on Center Street in Catlettsburg. Pastors Cline McAllister and Rick Ratliff will bring a heartfelt eulogy. Final rest will be at Golden Oaks Memorial Garden.
Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Susan's personal request was that contributions be made to Community Hospice, 1538 Central Avenue, Ashland, KY 41101, a testament of her unselfish heart and giving spirit.
