Willie Glenn Boggs - 1923-2008
Willie Glenn Boggs, 85, of Raceland, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008.
Willie was born July 7, 1923, in Lawrence County, Ky., to the late John M. and Hattie Pennington Boggs. He was a retired line foreman and clerk with GTE-Verizon. He was a member of Westwood Christian Church and a former member of the telephone union.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Louise Dalton Boggs and 18 of his siblings.
Survivors include two sons, James Boggs and his wife Michelle of Ashland and Matthew Boggs of Greenup County; two daughters, Angela Smith and her husband David of Westwood and Jeanette Johnson of Ashland; a sister, Louisa Marr of Bellevue, W.Va.; and six grandchildren Mason Boggs, Ryan Smith, Alisha Johnson, Carissa Smith, Danielle Boggs and Tyler Boggs.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008 at Westwood Christian Church by Dean Jackson, minister. Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood and one hour before the service on Saturday at the church.
